It's autumn, my darlings! That lovely time of year when the leaves change, the air grows brisker, the days get shorter and the prospect of getting out of your nice warm bed in the morning seems less attractive than ever. Thankfully, my fellow shopkeepers and I have some cozy new clothes in stock: beautiful coats and sweaters, a selection of warm hats and some lovely new legwarmers. The New York Organic Farm conference schedule is out and I'm all sorts of excited. I highly recommend this conference to anyone who gardens food. Even in the lectures more directed towards full farms I got all sorts of good info, apple tree care, chicken raising (it's legal now, come and learn how to do it!), not to mention tons of good food and fun people.

Please join local animal advocates to challenge the opening of a live-animal market and slaughterhouse within the city of Lackawanna.

A live-animal market and slaughterhouse does not fall under federally mandated guidelines established through the Humane Slaughter Act passed by Congress. This means animals may be fully conscious when their throats are cut. Animals then will be hung upside down by one leg and left to bleed out, kicking and screaming for up to an hour in most cases. Often, these poor animals suffer from injuries while dangling on these hoists.

Local activists need concerned citizens to join them to protest the building of such a facility in Lackawanna. Please help them pass out leaflets and hold signs, which will be provided. Just bring yourself and anyone you can recruit to join you. Contact Jeffery L. Im getting a DELL because I can get a discount.

Hello and thank you to all the Extreme Makeover fans in this group. David Homes still needs some last minute items for the upcoming Extreme Makeover Home Edition build starting on November 7th. First of all we see that there are various media friends in our group and we need your help in spreading the word! Not only are we building a house for a family but we have so many volunteers we are going to be doing numerous projects in the community! We are asking for your help in broadcasting out to your audiences about this group and about materials we still need.

Additionally, a lot of our friends in this group might have contacts with various local companies and we are asking for your help as well. The more materials we have the more volunteers we can use to show the nation that Buffalo is the city of good neighbors.

Here is a quick list of items we still looking for:

Scaffolding
Siding
Paint
Boom Truck (Cherry Picker)
Lumber (2 x 4) and (2x10)
Food service vendors to help feed our volunteers and our VIP's!

Wow, I never thought I'd see this happen. I just read the recently posted sticky in the zOMG forum. Did anyone see this coming? I'm just in shock.

Not a whole lot going on. I'm still nursing Harold back to health. He's getting better where he can actually put his paw on the food to steady it. However he still can't seem to sit up very well but he's gaining strength. I've been feeding him every 2 hours when I'm home. That seems to really help. In fact he's finally eating on his own! The poor guy is kinda frail though,when I pick him up he lets me. Usually he doesn't like to be picked up *lol* My husband is also sick, but the doctor said he only has a sinus infection. He puked today..so I dunno, I guess the mucus can make you puke. I have 2 sickies to take care of!

I played some Zork....actually I have to confess.... I played most of it at work. Only when there's down time though. Look at the friggin map! When I played that game on the old Commodore, my map looked nothing like that. I'm pretty convinced that if I was locked away and told that I had to beat the game to be released. I would never get out. I'd die trying *laughs*

I'm waiting for 12:30am to come around. That's when I can order the DROID online. I'm excited! I'll be able to keep up on posts and whatever through the phone. Hopefully that will free up my time when I'm on my desktop/upstairs.

RSS feeds again

Looking for a place to stay... simple as that.

anyone know of anywhere?

I was wondering if anyone knows of a repeatable and inexpensive appliance repair man??? My washing machine is dead, well at least it doesn't spin anymore. I'm broke but i need my washer! I cloth diaper my baby and buying disposables is not only expensive, but really saddens me. That said i can't really wash the cloth diapers at a laundry mat, to many different detergents leaving residue can make the diapers ineffective as well as most laundry mats will not let you wash diapers (and again expensive!!!!!) and washing by hand is not happening, lol. The machine is a ~6 year old GE® 3.2 Cu. Ft. Super Plus Capacity Washer if that helps. Also do you think its worth fixing this or has it had a good life and i should let it go? Anyone giving away a working machine? Any help is welcome thanks!

Hi everyone! I want to get my hair layered and highlighted, but I've never gotten the latter done before. I was just wondering what's a good place to go that's affordable. The last time I got my hair cut I went to Hair Xsalonce on Main in Williamsville. I liked them, but their prices are about 40 for a cut and then 65 for highlighting. Is this pricey, or is it about average?
